This is your opportunity to step into the classroom and spark curiosity, debate, and critical thinking in the historians of tomorrow.

The Role

This role goes beyond textbooks — it’s about storytelling, enquiry, and helping students connect the past with the present.

You’ll be:

  • Guiding students through key historical periods across KS3 to KS5
  • Bringing topics to life through discussion, debate, and interpretation
  • Encouraging students to question sources, analyse evidence, and form their own perspectives
  • Creating engaging lessons that challenge, inspire, and stretch all learners
  • Supporting progress through thoughtful feedback, marking, and assessment

Requirements

You don’t just teach History — you make it memorable.

You’ll likely:

  • Hold QTS, PGCE, ECT status, or equivalent (unqualified teachers also welcome)
  • Have experience teaching History across secondary levels
  • Be confident in delivering engaging, thought-provoking lessons
  • Have a track record (or strong potential) of supporting student progress
  • Bring flexibility, creativity, and a passion for your subject
