Supply Desk is working with a welcoming and forward-thinking school in Burnham, looking for a dedicated ASD Specialist Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism. This full-time role starting in September offers the opportunity to build a meaningful, consistent relationship that truly impacts a child’s development.

The Role

This isn’t just support — it’s connection, patience, and understanding.

You’ll play a key role in helping a pupil navigate their school day, building trust and creating a safe, structured environment where they can thrive.

Your day might involve:

• Providing consistent 1:1 support tailored to the pupil’s individual needs
• Helping manage routines, transitions, and emotional regulation
• Supporting communication and social development
• Working closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to deliver personalised strategies
• Celebrating small wins that lead to big progress

Who This Role Is Perfect For

You’re calm, resilient, and genuinely passionate about supporting children with Autism.

You’ll likely:

• Have experience working with Autism (ASD) and/or challenging behaviour
• Be patient, empathetic, and able to build strong, trusting relationships
• Have experience supporting children on a 1:1 basis or within SEN settings
• Hold a relevant qualification (Level 2+ or equivalent) – though passion and experience matter most
• Be motivated by making a real, lasting difference
