Role: Behaviour Mentor
Location: Haywards Heath and the local area
Salary: £14.25-£15.50 per hour
Hours: 8:30–3:30, Monday to Friday, Term Time Only

Supply Desk is working with schools in Haywards Heath and the surrounding area to provide additional behaviour and pastoral support for children who need extra help with their social, emotional or behavioural development. We are looking for individuals with experience supporting young people, either in education or through other relevant roles, who are passionate about helping pupils feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

We offer a range of opportunities, from shorter placements to longer‑term roles providing consistent behaviour support.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:

  • Support pupils 1:1 or in small groups to help them regulate emotions and develop positive behaviour strategies
  • Use calm and effective de‑escalation techniques when supporting challenging behaviours
  • Help pupils stay engaged with their learning
  • Build positive, trusting relationships that support pupils’ confidence and emotional development
  • Take part in activities such as sensory breaks, outdoor learning or structured movement sessions when required
  • Work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to ensure consistent support is in place
