HISTORY TEACHER (KS3–KS4)

Location: Aylesbury
Start: September 2026
Full Time: Temporary to Permanent
Salary: £29,344–£44,919

As a Secondary History Teacher, your role is to deliver structured lessons that help students analyse, explain, and evaluate historical events across KS3 and KS4.

Key responsibilities
Teach History across KS3 and KS4
Support students with source analysis and interpretation
Develop structured written responses
Teach cause, consequence, and interpretation
Prepare students for GCSE assessment
Maintain clear classroom expectations

The classroom environment
Lessons are structured and purposeful
Discussion is controlled and productive
Students build confidence in writing
Behaviour is consistent and calm

Skills and experience
Experience teaching History or strong humanities background
Ability to explain concepts clearly
Strong classroom management
Organised lesson planning

What success looks like
Students explain rather than list
Written work improves over time
Confidence in answering grows
Lessons remain focused and structured

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with History or Politics background
