About the Role

The school is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Food Technology Teacher to join the Design & Technology department for a maternity cover position running until March 2027. The start date is flexible, with opportunities to begin after the Easter holidays or from September.

Key Responsibilities

• Teaching Food Technology across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
• Planning and delivering engaging, practical lessons that inspire creativity and confidence
• Ensuring high standards of food hygiene, safety, and classroom organisation
• Monitoring student progress and providing constructive, timely feedback
• Contributing to curriculum development within the wider DT faculty
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to support a positive learning culture

Ideal Candidate

• UK‑qualified teacher with QTS (or working towards it)
• Experience teaching Food Technology at KS3 and KS4
• Strong subject knowledge, including practical skills and food safety awareness
• Confident classroom practitioner with effective behaviour management
• Passionate about inspiring students and promoting a love of practical learning
• Committed to safeguarding and maintaining high professional standards
