1:1 Teaching Assistant – SEN Focus

£14.25 - £15.30 per hour

Are you passionate about inclusive education and supporting children with Special Educational Needs? Supply Desk are looking for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Lewes that we are partnered with, providing high-quality, tailored support to pupils with EHCPs.

You’ll work closely with children who need additional support with communication, emotional regulation, and access to learning—using structured routines, effective behaviour management strategies, and a nurturing approach to help them thrive.

You will collaborate with experienced staff and external professionals, ensuring every child receives the support they need to flourish both academically and emotionally.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Experience or strong interest in supporting children with SEN, including ASD, speech & language needs, or SEMH
• A sound understanding of EHCPs, differentiation, and inclusive classroom practice
• Confidence using alternative communication tools and adapting teaching through scaffolding
• A nurturing, proactive attitude and ability to work as part of a collaborative team

Requirements:

• References covering the past 2 years
• An Enhanced DBS Check on the update service (we can support your application)
• At least 6 months’ experience working with children (preferred)
