Primary Teacher – Specialist Education Setting Near Andover

Start Date: September

Hours: 08:30 – 16:00, Monday to Friday

Job Description

A specialist education provision near Andover is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teacher to join their team from September. This role involves working with pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, within small and supportive class groups.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging, creative, and accessible lessons across the primary curriculum, adapting learning to meet individual needs. You will play a key role in supporting pupils’ academic development, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the primary curriculum
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of SEN needs, including Autism and SEMH
  • Work closely with support staff to maintain a structured and inclusive learning environment
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing regular feedback
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working with primary-aged pupils, ideally within an SEN setting
  • Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices
  • Ability to engage and motivate pupils with diverse needs
  • Patient, resilient, and committed to supporting individual progress
