About the Role

A welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Portsmouth is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated PE Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, promoting physical wellbeing, teamwork, resilience and a lifelong enjoyment of sport and physical activity.

You will join a supportive department with excellent facilities and a strong commitment to delivering engaging and inclusive PE lessons that encourage participation and achievement for all students.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and high-quality PE lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Encourage participation, teamwork and positive attitudes towards physical activity.
• Assess, monitor and support student progress.
• Create a safe, inclusive and motivating learning environment.
• Support extracurricular sports activities and school events where appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
• Promote student wellbeing, confidence and personal development through sport.

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching PE within a secondary school setting.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Passion for physical education and student development.
• Ability to motivate and inspire learners of all abilities.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
