GEOGRAPHY TEACHER

Location: Aylesbury
Start: September 2026
Full Time: Temporary to Permanent
Salary: £29,344–£44,919

Students don’t struggle because Geography is hard — they struggle because it hasn’t been explained clearly yet.

As a Secondary Geography Teacher, your role is to make sense of the world in a way students understand. You will teach KS3 and KS4, building knowledge step by step so that pupils can interpret, explain, and apply what they learn.

Key responsibilities
Teach Geography across KS3 and KS4
Deliver clear, structured lessons covering physical and human geography
Support pupils with interpreting maps, data, and case studies
Develop extended writing using structured approaches
Prepare students for GCSE assessments
Monitor progress and address gaps in understanding
Maintain a well-managed and focused classroom

The classroom environment
Lessons are well planned and logically organised
Students understand how topics connect
Behaviour is calm, consistent, and well managed
Learning is steady and measurable

Skills and experience
Experience teaching Geography or strong subject knowledge
Clear explanation and communication skills
Strong classroom management
Organised and structured approach

What success looks like
Students move from basic answers to full explanations
Written work improves in structure and clarity
Pupils engage more confidently with the subject

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly candidates with Geography or environmental backgrounds
