Salary: £95 – £130 per day

A warm and supportive school in Wendover is seeking a proactive and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team from Easter 2026. This role is ideal for an experienced TA or HLTA who is confident leading lessons, supporting pupils across key stages, and contributing to a positive learning environment.

The school offers a collaborative and inclusive atmosphere where staff work closely to ensure every pupil is encouraged, challenged, and able to achieve their best.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead whole-class lessons in the absence of the teacher, following planned materials and maintaining high expectations.

  • Provide targeted small-group and 1:1 support to help pupils progress academically, socially, and emotionally.

  • Work alongside teachers to plan, prepare, and deliver engaging learning activities.

  • Support pupils with additional needs by adapting resources and approaches to suit different learning styles.

  • Monitor and record pupil progress, sharing updates with teaching staff and contributing to assessments.

  • Help maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment that promotes independence and confidence.

  • Assist with interventions designed to remove barriers to learning and boost pupil achievement.

Person Specification

  • HLTA qualification or substantial experience working confidently at HLTA level.

  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to lead learning effectively.

  • Experience working with children across a range of abilities and needs.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.

  • Calm, adaptable, and able to respond positively to the needs of the school day.

  • Passionate about supporting young people to achieve their full potential.
