Maths SEN Teacher – Specialist Education Setting Near Andover

Start Date: September

Salary: £168 – £250 per day (dependent on experience)
Hours: 08:30 – 16:30, Monday to Friday

Job Description

A specialist education provision near Andover is seeking a dedicated and passionate Maths SEN Teacher to join their team from September. This role involves working with pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, within small, supportive class groups.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and accessible Maths lessons, adapting the curriculum to meet individual learning needs and abilities. You will play a key role in helping students build confidence, develop numeracy skills, and re-engage positively with their education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver tailored Maths lessons to small groups of students
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet a range of SEN needs, including Autism and SEMH
  • Work collaboratively with support staff to maintain a structured and inclusive environment
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to colleagues and parents/carers
  • Support students’ social, emotional, and behavioural development alongside academic learning

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working with SEN students, particularly those with Autism and SEMH needs
  • Strong subject knowledge in Maths
  • Ability to engage and motivate students with diverse and complex needs
  • Patient, resilient, and committed to inclusive education
