Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm | Monday to Friday | Term time only

Supply Desk work in partnership with a wide range of SEN schools, specialist provisions, and inclusive mainstream schools across West Sussex. We are currently recruiting compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistants to support children with additional needs and help them reach their full potential.

This opportunity is ideal for individuals with experience supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs, either within education settings or related care and support roles. We have a variety of placements available, including flexible day‑to‑day supply, longer‑term roles, and dedicated 1:1 support positions for pupils requiring specialist care and consistency.

We welcome applications from candidates with a range of relevant backgrounds, including:

  • SEN or specialist school experience
  • Support workers or care assistants
  • Mental health or behaviour support roles
  • Youth workers or community support workers
  • Sports coaches or activity leaders
  • Foster carers or residential care staff
  • Volunteers working with children or young people with additional needs

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 or small‑group support in SEN and specialist classroom settings
  • Support pupils with a range of needs, including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, physical disabilities, and complex learning needs
  • Assist with personalised learning activities under the direction of the class teacher and SEN staff
  • Support emotional regulation and respond appropriately to challenging behaviours, following school policies and procedures
  • Take part in alternative and therapeutic activities such as sensory play, movement breaks, outdoor learning, and sports activities
