Art Teacher – Secondary School in Southampton

Start Date: September (Autumn Term) Contract: Full-Time | Temporary until December Working Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm Pay: £165 – £250 per day (dependent on experience)

Position Overview

A high‑performing secondary school in the Southampton area is seeking a committed Art Teacher for a full‑time role starting in September and running until the end of the Autumn Term (December).

You will teach Art across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering creative, structured and inspiring lessons that nurture students’ artistic skills, confidence and imagination. What You Will Be Doing

  • Teaching Art across KS3 and KS4
  • Delivering engaging lessons that develop creativity, technical skills and artistic expression
  • Planning schemes of work and contributing to a rich, well‑sequenced Art curriculum
  • Supporting students in drawing, painting, mixed media and other creative techniques
  • Assessing and tracking progress in line with department expectations
  • Promoting a positive studio culture built on independence, respect and creativity

What We’re Looking For

  • A qualified teacher with UK QTS (or working towards QTS)
  • Experience teaching Art at secondary level
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for creative learning
  • Confident behaviour management aligned with a school known for strong routines
  • Ability to deliver practical lessons and support students of varying abilities
  • A commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
