Cover Supervisor 

Location: Portsmouth
Hours: Full-time (term-time)
Start: ASAP / September
Pay: £100 – £130 per day

Are you confident working with young people and interested in gaining experience within secondary education?
Do you have the skills to manage a classroom and support students in their learning?

We are seeking Cover Supervisors to join secondary schools across the Portsmouth area. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers or experienced support staff looking for flexible or long-term work in education.

You will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning by supervising classes during teacher absences and ensuring students remain engaged and focused.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials across a range of subjects
• Managing classroom behaviour effectively
• Supporting students with their learning and engagement
• Supervising classes during teacher absence
• Providing feedback to teaching staff following lessons
• Promoting a calm and purposeful learning environment
• Upholding safeguarding and school policies at all times

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working with young people (school-based or otherwise)
• Confident communication and classroom presence
• Positive, flexible and proactive attitude
• Strong organisational and behaviour management skills
• Ability to adapt across different subjects and year groups
• Passion for supporting students and education
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
