Job Title: EYFS Teaching Assistant

Location: Aylesbury

Start: September 2026

Full Time: Temporary to Permanent

Salary: £90-£120

This EYFS Teaching Assistant role supports pupils during the earliest and most important stage of their education. You will play a key role in helping children develop communication, social, emotional, and early academic skills in a safe and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities

• ·         Support children with early literacy and phonics activities
• ·         Assist with numeracy through games and structured play
• ·         Encourage positive social interaction and independence
• ·         Help establish routines and classroom expectations
• ·         Provide one‑to‑one and group support during learning activities
• ·         Assist with observations and basic assessments
• ·         Support personal care where required, following safeguarding guidance
• ·         Work closely with teachers and EYFS staff

Skills and Qualities

• ·         Experience working with young children preferred
• ·         Calm, nurturing and attentive approach
• ·         Good communication skills
• ·         Ability to engage children through play‑based learning
• ·         Understanding of child development
