Job Title: DT Teacher

Location: Buckinghamshire

This role offers the opportunity to teach Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4, focusing on practical skills, creativity, and independence. You will work in a well‑equipped department where practical learning is valued.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting a range of learners by adapting DT activities, materials, and equipment to meet the needs of different pupils.
  • Communicating effectively with teachers, support staff, and parents.
  • Contributing to students’ personal development by encouraging creativity, resilience, and problem‑solving.
  • Planning and delivering engaging DT lessons that spark.
  • Strong vocabulary to help pupils develop confidence in discussing and understanding design concepts.
  • Encouraging thoughtful discussion, idea‑sharing, and clear communication during design, making, and evaluation activities.
  • Assessing pupils’ progress through practical work and written elements, offering constructive feedback to help them improve and refine their skills.

The ideal candidate:

  • QTS (desirable) – unqualified teachers feel free to apply
  • Has experience working with children in a school environment and genuinely enjoys supporting them in practical, face‑to‑face learning.
  • Can build strong, positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents, ensuring clear communication and a supportive learning climate.
  • Feels confident working collaboratively within a dedicated DT team and contributing to the wider needs of the school.
  • Has the ability to adapt teaching approaches, resources, and practical tasks to meet the varied needs and abilities of different students.
