Overview

Supply Desk is seeking a passionate and committed Unqualified Science Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in the Salisbury area. This full-time role begins April 2026 for the duration of the summer term, with strong potential to continue into the next academic year.

You will be teaching Science to Key Stage 3 learners, typically in small, well-supported groups, with the assistance of experienced teaching staff. The school welcomes applicants without QTS who have experience teaching, tutoring, or supporting Science, particularly in settings where learners benefit from personalised support.

Role Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and accessible KS3 Science lessons.
  • Support pupils who may have additional SEMH or learning needs, fostering an inclusive and encouraging classroom atmosphere.
  • Plan and adapt lessons to meet the needs of individual learners.
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SEN professionals, and curriculum staff.
  • Contribute positively to a values‑driven and community‑focused school culture.

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience teaching or tutoring Science at KS3, GCSE foundational level, or Functional Skills.
  • Experience supporting students with additional needs (desirable).
  • Strong communication, relationship‑building, and behaviour‑management skills.
  • A proactive, empathetic approach that aligns with the school's values of aspiration, care, and inclusivity.
  • A valid DBS or willingness to obtain one.
