Contract: Full-Time

Daily Rate: £92.63 – £105.30

Supply Desk is working in partnership with a number of welcoming and inclusive SEND schools and provisions across Brighton and Hove, who are seeking compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) on a full-time basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people with additional needs.

About the Role

As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with pupils with ASC, providing tailored support to help them access learning, build confidence, and develop key social and communication skills. You will play a vital role in creating a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where pupils can thrive both academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Assist in delivering personalised learning plans in line with EHCP targets
  • Support communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction development
  • Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
  • Implement behaviour management strategies tailored to individual needs
  • Encourage independence and engagement in classroom activities
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Candidate Profile

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly ASC (essential)
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build trust and positive relationships with pupils
  • A proactive and resilient attitude
  • Passion for supporting children with additional needs

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in a SEND or educational setting
  • Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Two years’ worth of professional references
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
