Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Primary Phase

🕒 Hours: 08:30 – 15:30, Full-Time
💰 Pay: £90 – £110 per day
🚀 Start Date: ASAP- July 2026 (with the possibility to go permanent for the right candidate)

Supply Desk is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant for a full-time role in a energetic Ofsted “Good” rated school in Southampton.

This role is open only to qualified HLTAs who have the strength and experience to deliver whole-class teaching, lead small group sessions, and run targeted interventions. You’ll play a key role in maintaining high standards of learning and behaviour across the school, with the support of Learning Support Assistants (LSAs).

About the Role:

• Provide whole-class cover during teacher absences, using pre-prepared lesson plans
• Work across all primary year groups as required
• Lead interventions and small group support for targeted pupils
• Collaborate with LSAs to ensure every pupil is engaged and supported
• Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment
• Opportunity for a permanent contract for the right candidate

We're Looking For Someone Who:

✔️ Holds HLTA status or a Level 3 qualification equivalent
✔️ Has proven experience delivering whole-class lessons
✔️ Demonstrates strong classroom and behaviour management
✔️ Is confident working across the primary age range
✔️ Is proactive, flexible, and a team player
✔️ Is passionate about making a real impact in children’s education
