Salary: £29,344–£44,919

As a DT Teacher, you will deliver structured, hands-on lessons that allow students to design, create, and evaluate their work.

Key responsibilities
Teach Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4
Support practical workshop-based learning
Teach design processes and technical skills
Ensure health and safety compliance
Prepare students for GCSE coursework
Manage tools, equipment, and classroom routines

The classroom environment
Lessons are practical but well-controlled
Students follow clear processes
Safety and structure are prioritised
Behaviour is consistent

Skills and experience
Experience teaching DT or technical subjects
Strong organisation and safety awareness
Confident classroom control
Practical skill knowledge

What success looks like
Students produce quality work
Projects are completed successfully
Lessons run safely and efficiently

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with engineering or design backgrounds
