Role: 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Contract: Full-time – Temporary to Permanent

Salary: £89 – £110 per day (dependent on experience)

Key Responsibilities

Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a student with additional learning or behavioural needs.

Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions.

Support the student’s academic, emotional, and social development throughout the school day.

Encourage engagement, confidence, and independence within lessons and school activities.

Adapt resources and learning materials to meet the individual needs of the student.

Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a calm and supportive learning environment.

Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals to support student progress and wellbeing.

Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to teaching staff where required.

Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies are followed at all times.
Candidate Profile

Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational or support setting is desirable.

A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting learning and wellbeing.

Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.
-
Understanding of SEND needs is advantageous.

Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Willingness to participate in training and ongoing professional development.

Holds, or is willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check and suitable professional references.
