PRIMARY YEAR 5 TEACHER

Location: Aylesbury
Start: September 2026
Full Time: Temporary to Permanent
Salary: £29,344–£44,919

By Year 5, pupils know what school looks like.
Your role is to prepare them for what comes next.

As a Year 5 Teacher, you will guide pupils through a more demanding stage of learning, building independence, resilience, and confidence before they move into their final primary year.

Key responsibilities
Teach the Year 5 curriculum across all subjects
Plan structured lessons with clear outcomes
Challenge and support pupils appropriately
Build independence in learning behaviours
Monitor progress and address gaps early
Maintain strong classroom routines
Communicate effectively with parents and staff

The classroom environment
Lessons are structured and paced effectively
Pupils understand expectations
Learning is consistent and focused
Behaviour is calm and managed

Skills and experience
Experience teaching KS2
Strong classroom management
Organisation and planning skills
Ability to challenge pupils effectively

What success looks like
Pupils take more responsibility for their work
Confidence increases across subjects
Work becomes more structured and detailed

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with upper KS2 experience
