Cover Supervisor 

Location: Portsmouth
Hours: Full-time (term-time)
Start: ASAP / September
Pay: £100 – £130 per day

Do you have the skills to manage a classroom and support students in their learning?

We are seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work within secondary schools across the Portsmouth area. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers or experienced support staff looking to gain valuable classroom experience in a supportive school environment.

You will play a key role in ensuring continuity of learning by supervising classes during teacher absences and maintaining positive classroom behaviour.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Supervising classes using pre-prepared lesson materials
• Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining engagement
• Supporting students with their learning where required
• Ensuring a calm and purposeful learning environment
• Covering a variety of subjects and year groups
• Reporting back to teaching staff on lesson progress and behaviour
• Upholding school policies and safeguarding procedures

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working with young people (desirable)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Confident classroom presence
• Flexible, reliable and proactive attitude
• Ability to manage behaviour positively and effectively
• Good literacy and numeracy skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
