We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and highly skilled English Teacher to join our vibrant and thriving secondary school community in Rickmansworth. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and rigorous English lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Ensure students develop a strong command of language and critical thinking skills, alongside a love of literature
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and setting achievable targets for improvement
  • Develop and implement strategies to support the diverse learning needs of all students
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance cross-curricular learning and promote holistic development
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extra-curricular activities and school events
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to continually improve teaching practice

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (e.g. PGCE, overseas teaching qualification)
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching English
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire students
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful classroom environment
  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • An understanding and respect for the values and ethos of a faith-based school
