Primary Supply Teacher

Location: Portsmouth
Hours: Temporary (08:00 – 15:30)
Start: ASAP / September 
Pay: £140 – £170 per day

Are you a flexible and enthusiastic Primary Teacher looking for varied work in welcoming school settings?
Do you have the confidence to step into different classrooms and deliver engaging lessons?

We are currently recruiting Primary Supply Teachers to work across a range of friendly primary schools in the Portsmouth area. This is a full-time opportunity to start ASAP or for the Summer Term, offering a mix of day-to-day, short-term and longer-term assignments.

You will play an important role in supporting pupils’ learning by delivering pre-set work and maintaining a consistent and positive classroom environment.

• Range of Primary, Infant and Junior schools across Portsmouth

• Strong partnerships with Supply Desk
• Clear expectations around behaviour and learning
• Lesson plans and resources provided
• Opportunities for both ECTs and experienced teachers
• Focus on maintaining continuity in teaching and learning

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Delivering planned lessons across a variety of year groups
• Managing behaviour in line with school policies
• Marking work where required
• Ensuring pupils remain engaged and on track
• Supporting learning and development across the curriculum
• Adapting quickly to different classroom settings
• Encouraging a positive and inclusive learning environment

What We’re Looking For:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching in primary settings
• Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
• Good understanding of the National Curriculum
• Flexible and reliable approach
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
