We’re looking for a hands‑on Data Architect to design and deliver modern enterprise data solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Purview. You’ll lead architecture, modelling, governance, and data quality across end‑to‑end data products, ensuring data is trusted, well‑structured and ready for analytics at scale. This role shapes standards, builds governed pipelines, and drives metadata, lineage, and quality frameworks into day‑to‑day delivery.
Key Responsibilities
· Architect & Model Enterprise Data
- Design scalable data models across Fabric components (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Dataflows, Power BI semantic models).
- Partner with business and governance teams to define metadata standards, classifications, and shared business definitions.
- Own domain modelling best practice and ensure consistency across all data products.
· Build Governed Fabric Data Pipelines
- Configure Fabric environments, domains, connectors, and ingestion patterns with governance embedded from day one.
- Integrate metadata, lineage, glossary terms, classifications, and governance artefacts seamlessly between Fabric and Purview.
- Enable quality‑at‑ingestion and design ingestion patterns that minimise rework, ambiguity, and risk.
· Operationalise Data Quality & Governance
- Define and implement enterprise‑grade data quality rules, validation logic, and exception workflows.
- Build reusable templates, KPIs, and scorecards for data quality and governance monitoring.
- Embed governance into live pipelines with automated checks and issue surfacing.
· Advanced Purview Enablement
- Configure Purview for cataloguing, lineage, classification, glossary, stewardship roles, and workflow automation.
- Use Purview to drive visibility, traceability, and policy enforcement across data assets.
- Support proof‑of‑concept and scale‑out governance initiatives.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Deep hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Dataflows Gen2, Pipelines, Power BI).
- Strong enterprise and semantic data modelling skills, including DAX.
- Proven experience integrating Fabric with Purview (catalogue, lineage, classification, glossary, workflows).
- Practical experience designing and embedding data quality rules, frameworks, and dashboards.
- Ability to implement governance controls in operational environments and governed ingestion patterns.
- Confident with Spark or SQL within Fabric.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, especially across governance and business teams
