We are seeking an accomplished Study Manager to lead and oversee multidisciplinary mining and mineral processing studies, from initial concept through to feasibility. This pivotal role holds full accountability for study scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk management, and client relationships, ensuring all studies are delivered efficiently, commercially, and to the highest technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end management and successful delivery of multidisciplinary studies.
  • Define and control study scope, implementing integrated change management processes.
  • Develop and maintain detailed study schedules, ensuring timely completion of all deliverables.
  • Manage study budgets, engineering quality, and reporting standards.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate study risks effectively.
  • Coordinate study communications, document control, and reporting procedures.
  • Ensure technical and economic solutions fully meet client requirements.
  • Oversee compliance with peer-review processes to maintain study integrity.
  • Build and sustain strong client relationships, fostering long-term partnerships and repeat business.
  • Provide regular updates to clients on study progress, risks, and key developments.
  • Allocate appropriate resources across multidisciplinary study teams.
  • Offer leadership, mentoring, and continuous feedback to team members.
  • Manage the commercial aspects of studies to ensure profitability and alignment with tendered margins.
  • Control contractual variations and manage commercial risk.
  • Oversee EPCM manhour and reimbursable budgets.
  • Manage client invoicing and debt collection processes.

Essential Requirements

  • BSc Degree in Engineering – essential.
  • Professional Registration – essential.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in project management within mining and mineral processing plant project development.
  • Proven track record managing projects through the full lifecycle, from initiation to close-out.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience within an EPCM project house and/or mining company in a study management capacity.
  • Demonstrated expertise managing studies from concept through to feasibility.
  • Strong technical understanding of project execution and all key project management disciplines.
  • In-depth knowledge of the mining and EPCM industries.
  • Excellent technical report-writing skills.

Desirable Qualifications and Knowledge

  • Project Management qualification.
  • Familiarity with NI 43-101 standards and processes.
  • Knowledge of capital estimating standards such as AACE.
