We are seeking an experienced Project Planner to provide expert planning support across multidisciplinary EPCM projects. You will take ownership of project schedules, driving the successful delivery of complex mining and engineering projects by developing, maintaining and monitoring detailed schedules. Working closely with project teams, you will identify potential delays and ensure delivery aligns with agreed milestones and contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Create Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules, baseline programmes and key date schedules.
- Resource-load schedules and develop project S-curves to track progress.
- Monitor actual project progress against approved baselines and update schedules accordingly.
- Prepare and present regular progress reports to project stakeholders.
- Identify schedule deviations promptly and provide early warnings of potential delays.
- Develop corrective actions and recovery plans to mitigate risks.
- Monitor critical path activities and advise project management on schedule risks.
- Forecast the impact of proposed project changes on the schedule.
- Conduct delay analysis and support contractual planning compliance.
- Coordinate planning inputs across engineering, procurement and construction disciplines.
- Review contractor schedules to ensure alignment with overall project objectives.
- Participate actively in project kick-off, progress and planning meetings.
- Contribute to both internal and client project reporting requirements.
- Conduct periodic site visits as necessary to support project delivery.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar Project Planner role within EPCM or mining environments.
- Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project is essential.
- Experience in multidisciplinary engineering and construction environments is advantageous.
- Intermediate or higher proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Tertiary qualification is desirable.
- Good understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
- Exposure to cost engineering, planning and contracts administration is beneficial.
- Sound understanding of engineering principles and project delivery environments.
