Project Accountant

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Project Accountant to join a rapidly expanding utilities and engineering consultancy based in Gloucester. With a strong presence across the UK and a track record of delivering end-to-end engineering solutions for complex infrastructure projects, the company offers an engaging and rewarding work environment. This role is ideal for a finance professional with experience in project accounting and a hands-on approach. The position offers a salary of up to £45,000 plus a superb benefits package.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records for multiple ongoing projects, including timesheets, purchase orders, and invoicing.
• Ensure timely client billing aligned with project milestones and contractual terms.
• Manage supplier payments and build strong working relationships with subcontractors.
• Use Xero for reconciliations, reporting, and daily accounting operations.
• Monitor and report on project costs using Replicon, supporting financial efficiency.

What Experience is Required

• Proven experience in a similar project accounting or bookkeeping role.
• Proficiency with Xero and Replicon (or similar time and cost tracking software).
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.

Location

The office is based in Gloucester and is easily commutable from: Cheltenham, Stroud, Cirencester, Worcester, Tewkesbury, and Ross-on-Wye.
