About the Role
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support students in their academic and personal development.
In this role, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to create a nurturing and structured environment that helps pupils overcome barriers to learning and thrive in their education.
Key Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs, ensuring they are fully engaged in learning activities.

Assist in implementing personalised learning plans and behaviour strategies tailored to individual student needs.

Foster a calm and positive atmosphere in the classroom, encouraging emotional regulation and confidence in pupils.

Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to support each child’s holistic development.

Promote the school’s ethos of inclusivity, respect, and safety in all interactions.
The Ideal Candidate

Experience working with children in a school, care, or SEMH setting is preferred but not essential.

A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting children with diverse needs.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.

An understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies to support SEMH development.

A commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where every child can succeed.
