About the Role
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support students in their academic and personal development.

In this role, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to create a nurturing and structured environment that helps pupils overcome barriers to learning and thrive in their education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs, ensuring they are fully engaged in learning activities.

  • Assist in implementing personalised learning plans and behaviour strategies tailored to individual student needs.

  • Foster a calm and positive atmosphere in the classroom, encouraging emotional regulation and confidence in pupils.

  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to support each child’s holistic development.

  • Promote the school’s ethos of inclusivity, respect, and safety in all interactions.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with children in a school, care, or SEMH setting is preferred but not essential.

  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting children with diverse needs.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.

  • An understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies to support SEMH development.

  • A commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where every child can succeed.
