The Role A fire breaks out on a ship carrying 8,000 containers, and spreads quickly. Salvage tugs are mobilised and the fire is eventually extinguished. The damaged ship is towed into a nearby port, but the shipowner is faced with huge disruption to their commercial operations and mounting costs. The shipowner appoints an average adjuster to assist with this major casualty. Average adjusters are all-rounders with an expert knowledge of marine law and the practice of marine insurance, as well as a practical understanding of the global shipping industry. When ships are involved in accidents, they act as impartial intermediaries between the parties concerned and their insurers. We currently have an interesting opportunity for an experienced claims handler / executive to join RHL to lead and manage the team responsible for general average and salvage security collection processes across multiple offices around the world. They will ensure a high-quality service to all stakeholders while coordinating and overseeing staff globally. Key Responsibilities
