The Role

As part of our continued growth and team expansion, we are seeking an experienced Engineering Loss Adjuster to join our Natural Resources team based in Singapore. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic and specialized environment, focusing on complex engineering insurance claims across the Asia region.

In this role, you will be responsible for the investigation, assessment, and management of claims, with a particular emphasis on onshore and offshore energy sectors—including wind, solar, and oil & gas. You will deliver high-quality claims handling services on behalf of leading insurers, while also providing direct and professional support to policyholders. Your findings and recommendations will play a crucial role in guiding insurers through the resolution process.

We are looking for a technically adept and client-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering clear, timely, and reliable outcomes in the claims process.

Key Responsibilities

  • To perform an expert and high-quality loss adjusting function in respect of new claims and those already handled in the offices which have been delegated by Senior Adjusters / Adjusters. This will involve, but not be limited to: -
    • Receiving and acknowledging new claims instructions
    • Managing and coordinating claims in a timely and professional manner
    • Attending and assisting with site visits and meeting with Insurers, Reinsurers, Brokers, Claimants, Insureds and other interested parties
    • Assisting with preparation of preliminary reports commenting in detail on all aspects of the claim including legal and policy liability considerations, potential quantum and future actions
    • Assisting in providing instruction to surveyors, lawyers, forensic scientists and other experts as necessary
    • Assist in handling regular communication with all interested parties, calculations for interim payments, preparation of interim reports and other communications
    • Assisting with calculations, negotiations and agreements in the settlement of claims, and preparation of accurate final reports.
  • To assist in and develop the effective marketing of Charles Taylor’s Natural Resources department. This will include, but not be limited to: -
    • Developing working relationships with existing Clients
    • Helping to identify and plan approaches to new Clients
    • Hosting and attending networking events outside of office hours
    • Assisting in the preparation and delivery of presentations and tenders to Clients and potential Clients
    • Assisting others with their marketing functions and collaborating with other relevant departments on market strategy and relationship development / maintenance
  • Carry out Ad Hoc duties and tasks that are allocated to you at the discretion of management and that are within your capabilities and within the scope of your post.

Required Skills / Attributes

  • Able to read and write technical reports in Chinese, and preferably other relevant Asian languages such as Japanese, Korean and / or Indonesian
  • Established Loss Adjuster with strong experience of handling onshore / offshore power engineering claims OR relevant industry experience in the onshore / offshore power engineering sector and keen to establish a career in Loss Adjusting
  • University degree qualified in relevant power / engineering subject
  • Holds a professional loss adjusting qualification, or is willing to undertake study to attain one
  • Excellent communicator, comfortable with marketing and business development activities
  • High-quality report writing skills with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
