Sales Controller

Full Time: 42.25 hours per week , including weekends

Salary: Base of £34,000, OTE £65,000

We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven professional to join our Bristol Carbase team as a Sales Controller. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a growth mindset who is passionate about developing people, driving performance, and supporting a high-performing sales team.

As a Sales Controller, you will play a key role in the daily running of the sales operation, working closely with and reporting directly to the Store Leader. You will help drive team performance, use data and insights to improve results, and coach Sales Consultants to reach their full potential.

This role is ideal for someone who is highly organised, data-driven, and enjoys leading from the front. You will also step in to support or cover Business Managers when required, ensuring the sales process continues smoothly and customers receive the highest level of service.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Performance Support
Monitor and drive team performance against KPIs, sales targets, and conversion rates, helping ensure the team consistently performs at a high level.

Coaching & Development
Support and mentor Sales Consultants, helping them improve their sales process, product knowledge, and customer engagement.

Development Plans
Create and manage individual development plans for Sales Consultants, identifying areas for improvement and supporting their growth through regular coaching, feedback, and performance reviews.

Lead & Pipeline Management
Monitor and manage incoming sales leads, ensuring they are distributed effectively and followed up to maximise conversion.

Data & Reporting
Use sales data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and support the team in achieving stronger results.

Deal Support
Assist with structuring deals, resolving queries, and ensuring every opportunity is maximised while maintaining a smooth customer journey.

Business Manager Support
Work closely with Business Managers, providing daily support and stepping in to assist or cover when required.

Customer Experience
Promote excellent customer service standards and support the implementation of the customer review process.

Sales Campaigns & Initiatives
Support the delivery of sales campaigns and dealership initiatives to drive footfall and sales performance.

Operational Support
Assist with day-to-day showroom operations, diary management, and ensuring processes are followed consistently.

Person Specification

  • Must hold a full valid Driving Licence
  • Good standard of English and Maths
  • Previous experience within the car sales industry
  • Strong understanding of dealership sales processes
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyse sales performance
  • Passion for coaching, developing, and motivating team members
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
  • Positive attitude with a strong growth mindset
  • Ability to lead from the front and support the wider sales team
