Salary – Competitive (dependent on experience)

The normal working hours are 42.5 hours per week, worked over 5 days plus the requirement to work 1 Saturday every 4 weeks.

As Carbase continues to expand, we are thrilled to announce a new opportunity for a Technician to join our busy workshop team.

Key responsibilities:

  • · Diagnosing Vehicle Issues: Perform thorough diagnostic testing to accurately identify faults and malfunctions across a variety of car makes and models.
  • · Servicing and Repairs: Carry out high-quality servicing and repairs, ensuring all work meets industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
  • · Safe Work Environment: Maintain a clean, safe, and productive work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and company protocols.
  • · MOT Testing: Conduct MOT testing (if applicable to role), ensuring vehicles meet regulatory safety and environmental standards.
  • · Customer Communication: Collaborate effectively with Service Advisors to relay technical information to customers, providing clear explanations and solutions to their vehicle issues.
  • · Accurate Documentation: Complete all required paperwork accurately, including job cards, service reports, and repair orders, ensuring thorough records for each vehicle.
  • · Pre-Delivery Inspections: Perform comprehensive pre-delivery inspections on vehicles to ensure they meet quality standards before handover to customers.
  • · Deadline and Promise Adherence: Follow assignments through to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to customer expectations and service promises.

Person Specification:

  • Hold a relevant qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repairs, or have equivalent experience as a time-served vehicle technician.
  • Have a current and valid UK driving licence.
  • Own and maintain a basic set of tools required for the role.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers, explaining technical information in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Having an IMI-accredited MOT qualification is highly desirable and will be rewarded with a higher salary.
  • Be a proactive and collaborative team player with a hands-on approach to work.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and workload independently, with minimal supervision.
  • A good level of physical fitness to perform the physically demanding tasks required for the role.
