Job Description

The Director of Product Management leads the product strategy and execution for key financial products within the organisation. This role is responsible for driving product innovation, managing the product lifecycle, and ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs. The post holder works closely with cross-functional teams including technology, marketing, compliance, and sales to deliver products that meet regulatory standards and provide competitive advantage in the market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a clear product vision and strategy that supports overall business goals and growth plans.
  • Lead the product management team, providing direction, coaching, and support to ensure effective delivery of product initiatives.
  • Oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation, development, launch to continuous improvement and retirement.
  • Analyse market trends, customer feedback, and competitive activities to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define product requirements, prioritise features, and establish roadmaps.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant banking regulations and internal policies throughout product development and deployment.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and timelines to deliver products within agreed parameters.
  • Drive product performance through data analysis, key performance indicators, and customer satisfaction measurements.
  • Represent the product function in senior leadership meetings, reporting on progress, risks, and strategic plans.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the product management team.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Proven track record of at least ten years in product management within the banking or financial services sector.
  • Extensive experience in leading teams and managing complex product portfolios.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, banking products, and regulatory environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful product strategies.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools and product management software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualification such as an MBA or equivalent.
  • Professional certifications in product management or project management.
  • Experience working within Agile frameworks and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of digital banking platforms and fintech innovations.
  • Familiarity with risk management and compliance processes in financial services.
