About the Opportunity

Our client is a growing and highly respected specialist MGA, part of a larger international insurance group, operating within the commercial property market. As part of the continued development of its portfolio analytics capabilities, the business is seeking a Senior Portfolio Analyst to support portfolio reporting, catastrophe risk analysis, and portfolio monitoring activities across its commercial property portfolio.

This is a hands-on, individual contributor role that offers exposure to underwriting, portfolio management, reinsurance, and catastrophe analytics. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering recurring portfolio reporting, analysing catastrophe risk exposures, validating portfolio data, and supporting business-critical decision making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver recurring portfolio and exposure reporting for internal and external stakeholders
  • Analyse portfolio movements, concentrations, premium trends, exposure changes, and modelled catastrophe loss outputs
  • Perform catastrophe risk analysis, including model comparisons, scenario testing, and sensitivity assessments
  • Reconcile complex datasets and investigate discrepancies through to resolution
  • Validate portfolio data, exposure information, and model outputs.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests from senior management, underwriting, reinsurance, and risk teams
  • Translate technical analysis into clear business insights and recommendations
  • Support the enhancement and automation of reporting and analytical workflows using SQL, Python, and other analytical tools
  • Collaborate with technology teams to improve reporting processes and analytical frameworks

Candidate Profile

We are particularly interested in individuals with:

  • 5-8 years' experience within commercial property insurance, reinsurance, exposure management, catastrophe modelling, portfolio analytics, or a related discipline
  • Direct experience working with commercial property insurance or reinsurance portfolios
  • A strong track record of owning recurring reporting and analytical deliverables
  • Practical hands-on experience using SQL, Python, or similar analytical tools
  • Strong data validation, reconciliation, and quality-control capabilities
  • The ability to interpret catastrophe model outputs and communicate business implications effectively
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to operate independently in a remote working environment

Desirable Experience

  • Moody's RMS, Verisk, or similar catastrophe modelling platforms.
  • Lloyd's, delegated authority, regulatory, or reinsurance reporting.
  • Exposure management or portfolio monitoring tools.
  • Model version comparisons, assumption testing, and catastrophe sensitivity analyses.
  • APIs, cloud-based data environments, automation tools, and AI-enabled analytical workflows.

What's on Offer

  • Fully remote working arrangement
  • Exposure to senior stakeholders and strategic portfolio decisions
  • Opportunity to influence and enhance a growing analytics function
  • High level of ownership and visibility across the business
  • Competitive compensation package
