SUPPLY CHAIN ANALYST

Job Purpose
The Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for providing end-to-end visibility of supply chain performance through
the monitoring, analysis and reporting of operational and commercial performance across procurement,
manufacturing, warehousing, transport and distribution.
The role serves as the central point for Supply Chain performance analytics by monitoring key operational
indicators, identifying exceptions, analysing trends and providing timely insights that support effective decisionmaking.
Working closely with Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Warehousing, Distribution, Fleet and
Commercial teams, the incumbent ensures that operational risks, service failures and performance gaps are
identified early and translated into actionable business insights.
The role is also responsible for maintaining the integrity of Supply Chain reporting, supporting the continuous
improvement of the Control Tower capability and driving greater visibility through the effective use of business
intelligence tools, automation and data analytics.


Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Control Tower Operations
• Monitor end-to-end supply chain performance across procurement, manufacturing, warehousing,
transport and distribution activities.
• Track daily operational performance against established supply chain service and operational targets.
• Identify operational exceptions, disruptions and emerging risks requiring management intervention.
• Maintain and update the Supply Chain Control Tower to provide accurate and timely operational
visibility.
• Escalate critical supply chain issues to the appropriate stakeholders for resolution.
• Monitor operational recovery actions and track exceptions through to closure.
• Support proactive decision-making through timely operational reporting and alerts.


Supply Chain Performance Reporting & Analytics
• Develop and maintain daily, weekly and monthly Supply Chain performance reports.
• Analyse operational performance trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Produce executive dashboards that provide meaningful operational and commercial insights.
• Monitor key Supply Chain performance indicators and highlight material deviations.
• Conduct root cause analysis on recurring operational performance issues.
• Support management with ad hoc analysis and business performance reporting.
• Benchmark operational performance against agreed business targets and industry best practice.


Data Analytics & Business Intelligence
• Develop and maintain interactive dashboards using approved business intelligence platforms.
• Analyse large and complex data sets to support operational decision-making.
• Translate operational data into meaningful business insights and recommendations.
• Develop automated reporting solutions that improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
• Support predictive analysis and trend forecasting where appropriate.
• Continuously improve reporting capability through enhanced data visualisation and analytics.
• Ensure management has access to accurate and timely operational information.

Data Governance & Systems Management
• Maintain the integrity and accuracy of Supply Chain master data across relevant systems.
• Validate operational data received from ERP, WMS, TMS and other operational systems.
• Identify data quality issues and coordinate corrective action with relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain consistent reporting definitions and data governance standards.
• Support integration between operational systems and reporting platforms.
• Document reporting methodologies, business rules and data definitions.
• Promote consistent use of Supply Chain reporting standards across the business.


Operational Exception & Risk Management
• Monitor operational exceptions that may impact customer service, inventory or distribution
performance.
• Identify supply chain risks through exception reporting and trend analysis.
• Escalate critical operational issues to relevant functional leaders.
• Track corrective actions and monitor resolution of operational issues.
• Maintain visibility of operational risks affecting service delivery.
• Support business continuity through proactive operational monitoring.
• Provide regular updates on unresolved operational risks.


Continuous Improvement & Process Optimisation
• Identify opportunities to improve Supply Chain reporting, analytics and operational visibility.
• Recommend improvements to reporting processes, dashboards and performance measurement.
• Support Supply Chain optimisation initiatives through analytical insights.
• Assist with network, transport and inventory optimisation studies.
• Drive greater automation of Supply Chain reporting processes.
• Promote data-driven decision making across the Supply Chain function.
• Support implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.


Stakeholder Support & Business Partnership
• Build effective relationships with Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Warehousing, Distribution,
Fleet, Finance and Commercial teams.
• Provide analytical support to operational and strategic Supply Chain initiatives.
• Present operational insights to management through clear and concise reporting.
• Support cross-functional problem solving through accurate performance analysis.
• Assist leadership with performance reviews and operational planning activities.
• Promote effective communication of operational performance across the Supply Chain function.
• Provide technical guidance on Supply Chain reporting and performance metrics.


Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Statistics,
Business Analytics, Information Systems or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of Supply Chain operations and performance measurement.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel capability.
• Working knowledge of Business Intelligence and reporting platforms.
• Knowledge of ERP systems and Supply Chain technologies.


Ideal Qualifications
• Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics or Data Science.
• APICS CSCP, CPIM or equivalent professional certification.
• Power BI, Tableau or SAP Analytics Cloud certification.
• SQL, Python or other analytics and automation training.
• Lean Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement qualification.


Minimum Experience
• Minimum 3–5 years' experience in Supply Chain Analytics, Business Intelligence or operational
reporting within an FMCG or manufacturing environment.
• Experience developing Supply Chain dashboards and KPI reporting.
• Experience working with ERP, WMS and Transport Management Systems.
• Experience analysing large operational datasets and translating findings into business insights.
• Experience supporting Supply Chain performance reviews and operational decision-making.
• Strong reporting, data visualisation and analytical capability.
• Experience working across multiple Supply Chain functions.
