On behalf of our large food production client in Manchester, we are looking to recruit a Shift Technician on a permanent contract.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced technician to join a successful, well known and evolving business in Manchester.

 

Working Pattern

4 shifts on and 4 shifts off.

Week 1- 7am- 3pm

Week 2- 3pm – 11am

Week 3- 11pm – 7am

After week 3, the shift pattern goes back to the beginning.

 

Pay

£520 per week before tax & company benefits to be discussed upon interview stage.

 

Holiday Entitlement

24 days holiday per year

Job Description

-          Delivering consistent site performance and adherence to plan by acting as equipment operations expert

-          Initial problem resolution and appropriate escalation of equipment issues acting as liaison between Production and Engineering teams.

-          Ensuring compliance with company standards, delivering line changeovers and start-ups in a safe and timely manner

Responsibility for organising;

-          Set up and change overs of production lines including Hygiene preparation

-          Ensuring line side hot spares are available to mitigate downtime

-          Line side consumables available in line with operational need

-          Associated  C.I  and Lean Manufacturing information

-          Maximizing the utilization of equipment

-          Completion of planned maintenance activities

Ensure the prompt and accurate reporting of:-

-          Technician Daily Check Sheet

-          Shift handover report

-          Health & safety start up checks

-          Process Control and OEE documents as required.

 

Responsibility for problem solving:

  • For identifying deadlines and priorities and escalating appropriately from established triggers
  • For solving, evaluating and monitoring any minor running conditions using correct tools and techniques
  • For referring areas of concern to the Supervisor, Shift Manager and Engineering team as required

 

Qualifications & Skills

 

-          Educated to GSCE level or equivalent

-          Previous experience in a FMCG environment (Fast Moving Consumer Goods)

-          Knowledge and experience of Health & Safety requirements and legislation

-          Working knowledge of machinery and equipment within the department and areas

-          PC Literate

-          Good Communicator both written and oral

-          Mechanical and Electrical appreciation training
