KEY OUTPUTS:

  • The Cruise Director will be responsible for leading the planning phase and the future Amazon Explorer operations of a luxury vessel currently under construction in Iquitos, which will operate in the Peruvian Amazon.
  • During the construction phase, the role will be instrumental in identifying and appointing suppliers, preparing budgets, and overseeing the procurement of furniture, equipment, and all supplies required for the Amazon Explorer operation. The position will also contribute to the definition of operational processes, service standards, and the recruitment of the onboard Amazon Explorer team.
  • Once operations commence, the role will transition onboard as Hotel Director, overseeing Accommodation, Housekeeping, and Food & Beverage, and ensuring a refined luxury guest experience aligned with the highest standards of international hospitality.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • A professional or technical qualification in Hospitality, Tourism, Hotel Management, or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Spanish and English, both spoken and written (essential). Knowledge of additional languages will be considered an advantage.

 

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Strong customer service focus and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated leadership, strong organisational skills, and the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound decision-making capability.
  • Intercultural sensitivity with a strong orientation towards personalised guest experiences.
  • Flexibility to work on a rotational basis and in remote or isolated environments.

 

PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • A minimum of five years’ experience within luxury hospitality environments is desirable, ideally gained through luxury cruise operations, high-end lodges, or comparable premium establishments.
  • Proven experience in budget management and procurement within Lodge & Cruise operations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing teams.
  • Previous experience in remote operations or onboard environments will be highly regarded.
