The Role
- The Lead Care Assessor plays a key leadership role within Alcedo Care’s Operational People Development team, ensuring that all Care Assessors are trained, supported, and consistently delivering work to our clients high-quality standards.
- The Lead Care Assessor will be responsible for interviewing, recruiting, onboarding and training the new care assessors, ensuring they understand and uphold our clients values, processes, and compliance expectations. They will also provide ongoing mentoring, performance monitoring and quality checks to ensure excellence in assessments, care planning and service delivery.
- When not actively training or onboarding new Care Assessors, the LCA will focus on auditing and analysing assessment quality, ensuring compliance across branches and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- This role reports directly to the Group Head of People Operational Development
Key Responsibilities
- Reports to the Group Head of People Operational Development
- Leads on the recruitment, induction and training of new Care Assessors across our clients Groups.
- Act as a mentor and for existing Care Assessors, ensuring consistency, confidence and competence across the team
- Conducts quality assurance checks, audits and performance reviews of Care Assessors
- Ensures Care Assessors meet our clients standards for documentation, compliance and client engagement
- Provides ongoing coaching and development opportunities to support personal and professional growth
- Works collaboratively with Registered Managers, Operations Managers and Compliance Teams to ensure assessments, care plans and reviews are of the highest quality
- Promotes best practise and continuous improvement within the assessment
What you need for this role
- Level 3 (or above) qualification in Health and Social Care Leadership or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Care Assessor or in a similar role within the Health and Social Care Sector.
- Demonstrable experience in mentoring, coaching or training others.
- Strong understanding of person-centred care planning and CQC compliance standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Confident in using electronic care planning systems (e.g. One Touch) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities.
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
