The Role
- The Lead Recruitment Assistant plays a key role in supporting the Group Head of Operational People Development and the wider operations team by ensuring all Operational Support Assistants are recruited, trained and performing to Alcedo Care’s high standards. The Lead Operational Assistant will be fully competent in all elements of the Operational Support Assistant role and will provide day-to-day guidance, mentoring and quality oversight of the Operational Support Assistant team.
- They will lead on interviewing, recruiting and onboarding new OSAs and will be responsible for delivering training, mentoring compliance and ensuring consistency and excellence across all branches.
Key Responsibilities
- The Lead Recruitment Assistant reports directly to the Group Head of Operational People Development regarding OSA staffing levels, recruitment performance and team compliance.
- Supports and mentors OSA’s, ensuring they understand and meet their targets, KPIs and branch expectations.
- Leads on interviewing, recruiting, training and onboarding new Operational Support Assistants.
- Conducts quality assurance and compliance reviews across the OSA team, identifying areas for improvement and implementing action plans where required.
- Works closely with Registered Branch Managers, Operations Managers, and the Group Head of Recruitment to ensure smooth operational delivery across all branches.
- When not delivering training or shadowing, proactively monitors OSA output, offering constructive feedback and coaching to maintain standards.
- Ensures recruitment compliance is maintained at all times, including application forms, DBS checks, references and onboarding documentation.
What you need for this role
- Extensive experience as an Operational Support Assistant or in a similar recruitment/operations role
- Strong understanding of recruitment compliance and care sector regulations
- Proven ability to lead, train and motivate team members
- Excellent organisational, time management and communication skills
- Confidence in decision-making, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
- Proactive and self-motivated, with strong attention to detail
- Competent IT user (Microsoft Office, databases, job boards, social media)
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines
- Professional, approachable, and supportive leadership style
