Account Executive Cargo

Do you have a background in a fast paced Cargo / Freight forwarding role?  Do you have a fluent or professional level of written and verbal German and English?  Are you looking for an exciting role with a global company that develops their own?  If so, apply now, as we are looking for a Cargo Account Executive to join our growing Cologne based team on a hybrid basis.

Reporting directly to Head of Cargo (Germany), you will help the cargo broking team to deliver revenue and profitability in accordance with your agreed targets and maintain high earning key accounts. This will be achieved by facilitating air charter cargo shipments, including dealing with the relevant administration and customer service surrounding such bookings, as well as assisting with some sales activities.

You will:

• Be an integral part of a team in a fast-paced environment, offering exceptionally high service to all existing and new customers
• Deal with air charter freight bookings from first request through to post sale support
• Arrange all compliance and customs documentation
• Liaise with finance and clients regarding payments
• Keeping the Customer Relationship Management - CRM – system up to date and accurate – Dynamics 365 / D365
• Deal with customer queries and complaints   
• Research relevant industry data, create new sales leads and contact existing and new customers by phone, via email or in person, to help build new business
• Represent Air Partner at Exhibitions, conferences etc.
• Assist with client care activities and supplier relations
• Ensure the orderly maintenance of paperwork / files
• Be flexible during busy, time sensitive periods

What we are looking for:

• Experience working in a similar freight forwarding or cargo charter support / administration / sales role
• Fluency or an advanced level of written and verbal German and English
• An excellent level of accuracy, numeracy and efficiency
• Good IT skills with the ability to learn the functions of a new system quickly
• An ability to travel and work form the Cologne office 3 days per week
• A strong customer focus with good people skills and the ability to form strong relationships
• A flexible person, always wanting to go the extra mile for the customer
• A logical approach to problem solving and adapt at keeping up with changing situations
• Experience with a CRM system would be an advantage
• A goal-driven, high-energy individual that is both an independent worker and a strong team player
