Assistant Accountant - £28,000 – £35,000 + Study Support and Benefits – Basingstoke, Hampshire ( 1 Day in the office)

FryerMiles is delighted to be partnering with a highly regarded, international professional services organisation looking to appoint an ambitious Assistant Accountant to join their growing finance team.

This is a varied and hands-on role with exposure to both UK and international operations. You’ll play a key role in supporting overseas offices across Europe and Asia, while contributing to core financial reporting and month-end processes.

As an Assistant Accountant, you will work closely with senior finance stakeholders and act as a key point of contact for international finance teams.

Key responsibilities include:

• Acting as the main contact for overseas finance teams
• Processing and reconciling international cashbooks
• Managing reconciliations and resolving discrepancies across multiple entities
• Maintaining fixed asset registers, including depreciation calculations
• Supporting prepayments and accruals schedules
• Managing bank transactions and reconciliations (UK and overseas)
• Processing invoices and expenses, ensuring timely approvals and payments
• Supporting VAT/GST submissions across multiple jurisdictions
• Assisting with intercompany transactions and reconciliations
• Contributing to monthly management accounts
• Supporting the annual audit process

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented finance professional who is keen to develop their career in a dynamic, international environment.

You will have:

• Studying towards AAT, ACCA, or equivalent
• Strong understanding of core accounting principles (including double entry)
• Experience in bookkeeping (prepayments, accruals, bank recs, fixed assets)
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
• Strong Excel skills (e.g. lookups, pivot tables)
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Desirable (but not essential):

• Experience working with multiple currencies
• Exposure to professional services environments
• Familiarity with finance systems such as SAP Concur or similar
