Job Title: QA/QC Officer

Location: Atyrau, Kazakhstan

Job Purpose:

The QA/QC Officer is responsible for reviewing and understanding plans and specifications, comparing completed work to specification requirements, and assisting in monitoring overall performance regarding technical quality and compliance. The role aims to ensure that all construction activities meet the required quality standards and specifications.

Responsibilities:

1. Quality Assurance & Control:

• Review and understand plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure work meets the specified requirements.
• Inspect completed work and work in progress to determine compliance with specifications.
• Identify and implement improvements to overall quality performance and methods.
• Assist in establishing control of QA/QC Plans, Method of Statements, and Test Plans before project commencement.
• Ensure the QA/QC plans are implemented throughout the project to meet quality requirements and client expectations.

2. Documentation & Inspection:

• Prepare Work Inspection Requests (WIR) for each construction activity and submit them to consultants for approval, ensuring coverage of all construction activities on-site.
• Conduct quality toolbox and method statement briefings for all relevant activities.
• Ensure all incoming materials are checked according to project specifications and approved material submittals.

3. Quality Management System (QMS):

• Apply in-depth knowledge of the Quality Management System (QMS) or Integrated Management System (IMS).
• Ensure proper control over project documentation, quality standards, and systems.
• Proficient in using computer applications such as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Primavera for project management and reporting.

4. Compliance with Standards:

• Ensure compliance with work-related standards, specifications, and quality systems such as ISO 9001, QCS, ASTM, BS, BSEN, ACI, and AASHTO.
• Analyze complex technical data, utilizing logic and quantitative reasoning to assess quality performance and resolve issues.

5. ERP Systems:

• Utilize ERP systems, preferably SAP, to track and manage quality-related documentation and project activities.

   

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional Qualification: MMUP Engineer Registration (UPDA), Lead Auditor Certification (ISO 9001 or equivalent), or ASQC Certification (CQM/CQE).
• Experience:
• Minimum 5 years of working experience, with at least 3 years in a relevant QA/QC role.
• At least 2 years of experience in the GCC region is a plus.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficient in quality management systems (QMS), ISO standards, and technical specifications.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Primavera, and ERP systems (preferably SAP).
