Position Overview

The Structural / Civil Engineer is responsible for overseeing and executing detailed engineering work related to structural and civil disciplines. The role requires providing technical support to ensure the project’s business objectives and client requirements are met. You will manage a team of draftsmen, supervise consultants, and ensure the quality of engineering documents throughout the lifecycle of the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute detailed engineering tasks related to structural and civil engineering projects.
• Supervise and guide a team of draftsmen, ensuring their work meets quality standards.
• Monitor and assess the performance of engineering consultants, ensuring they comply with project, HSE, quality, and code requirements.
• Collaborate with the project engineering and proposal teams to provide technical evaluations and support.
• Generate technical queries and engineering deviation requests as needed to support the project scope.
• Prepare and review detailed engineering deliverables related to both structural and civil disciplines, ensuring they are in line with the project’s goals.
• Oversee the preparation of engineering deliverables, including site development plans, structural designs, civil drawings, and calculations.
• Review the engineering outputs from consultants and ensure they meet the required specifications and international standards.
• Assist in pre-bid activities and prepare scope-of-work documents for various project phases.

Preferred Experience

Ideal candidates will have the following experience:

• Proven experience with feasibility studies, FEED, and EPIC projects, particularly in pre-award FEED endorsement.
• Experience in the oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, and civil infrastructure sectors, with a focus on both offshore and onshore fields.
• Familiarity with preparing and reviewing structural and civil engineering procedures, codes, and standards, including HSE requirements and international regulations.
• High proficiency in using structural analysis and design software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SACS) and other MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Solid experience preparing detailed engineering deliverables for offshore structures, including G.A. drawings, structural adequacy calculations, load-out procedures, and lifting studies.
• Experience in civil engineering deliverables such as site plans, grading, drainage systems, building and foundation drawings, and construction specifications.
• Experience managing the scope of work for engineering consultants, ensuring compliance with project standards.
• Knowledge of civil materials and construction techniques, with experience in fabrication and on-site construction activities.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with leadership and team management capabilities.
• The ability to mentor, guide, and motivate junior engineers and draftsmen.

Qualifications

• Degree in Structural and Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 6 to 8 years of relevant experience, primarily in the oil & gas, petrochemical, and refinery sectors.
• At least 2 years of experience working in the Middle East.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and requirements in the oil & gas industry.
