MDE Group currently have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Electrician, within the Commercial/Solar space! 

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrician to join a team of Commerical Solar Installers.

As a Lead Electrician, you will be responsible for assisting with the installation and maintenance of solar panel systems. This is a hands-on role that requires knowledge of power tools, electrical systems, and mechanical components.

Location: Newcastle (Site Based – UK Travel/Stay Aways) 

Monday - Friday 

Role and Responsibilties 

• Work alongside the mechanical team to ensure correct cable management and secure sealing.
• Adhere strictly to industry standards and best practices for electrical installations.
• Focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction in all projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, mechanical installers, and team members.
• Organise workflow, allocate resources efficiently, and ensure timely project completion.
• Mentor, guide, and support apprentices and junior engineers.
• Promote skill development and maintain high-quality standards within the team.
• Exhibit strong problem-solving abilities to address challenges during installations.
• Ensure prjects are completed on time and within budget.
• Commit to maintaining a strong safety culture.
• Enhance safety awareness and risk management on job sites through training and enforcement of safety protocols.

Qualifications 

• City & Guilds 2360 or equivalent
• NVQ Level 3
• AM2
• City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent (2394/2395)
• ECS Gold card
